I hope they’ll be able to remove the plate. From a movement perspective, if you limit movement through some joints, others will try to compensate. For the neck, that would mean risk of increased movement in the other vertebrae over time. (Possible additional need for surgeries.) Hope for the quality of life improving, as I expect that’s the ultimate goal with it.
Even if the plate is removed, movement will be limited because those 3 disks are lost. So I am learning how to use my body so I limit wear and tear on the adjacent levels. And hoping that, if/when those levels have issues, that the science of medicine has some better options for me. Thanks, Bret.
