Defiance with Humor/Ridicule

Ayn Rand wrote, in “Don’t Let It Go” (1971), “Defiance, not obedience, is the American’s answer to overbearing authority.”

The essay described what she called “the American sense of life,” which can be updated, a few decades later, as the individualist sense of life. It exists all over the globe, today, as we have seen in countless demonstrations by tens of thousands each, protesting draconian lockdowns and mandates.

Part of that defiance consists in criticizing, and especially ridiculing, the authoritarians taking away our freedom. And so we have…Fauci memes. I’ve been peppering them all over various social media, but will start collecting them here, as a fitting way to kick off this Substack. Enjoy!
