(A decent catch for an iPhone XS, right? On a walk, yesterday, taking advantage of the warm weather before a little freeze comes our way.)
My biggest wish for 2022: A shift in the culture, throughout the world, from motivation by fear to motivation by love.
It need not be perfect. Just enough to restore political freedom and respect for others’ choice of lifestyle and belief.
(My job, of course, is to eradicate in myself, the remnants of motivation by fear. In 2021 I came a long way.)
I spent the a few of the last hours of 2021 watching Robert Malone on Joe Rogan. Both were excellent, clear, both sobering and reassuring. Other than the fact that, at the very end, Malone plugged the wrong social media platform (I work for Parler, and we are Malone’s people, even if he doesn’t know it yet), it was perfect. It demonstrated that the truth can still find its way out, despite the large social media platforms’ attempts to squelch it.
So check it out if you haven’t yet and share it with your friends.
And if your musical tastes permit, enjoy this “classic” from Incubus which came to mind this morning:
“Sometimes I feel the fear of uncertainty stinging clear
And I, I can't help but ask myself
How much I let the fear take the wheel and steer
“It's driven me before
And it seems to have a vague, haunting mass appeal
But lately I'm
Beginning to find that I should be the one behind the wheel”
